  • The demand for cloud computing has witnessed a substantial growth in recent years. Despite the improved hardware utilization achieved through virtualization, data center energy consumption has continued to rise. This surge in consumption has resulted in increased energy costs. Therefore, the aim of the work was to find reasonable allocation bases for first and second stage allocation of data center energy costs. A case study was conducted at a cloud computing provider. to allocate energy costs from data centers to products. The chosen allocation bases include average server power, number of virtual cores, revenue, and customer base of the products. The findings of this study contribute to optimizing energy cost management strategies and enhancing the efficiency of cloud computing operations.
