Research

Within industries of intense competition, like the automotive industry, product platforms are employed as basis for a company’s product portfolio in order to realize economies of scale and scope, and  to reduce complexity.  We are interested in how management accounting can support and influence modular product design. Hereby, we focus on the fuzzy front end stage of the new product development process of product platforms and individual products. Industry best practices as well as theoretical solutions are in the focus of our research.
