Maren Fimpel completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration at the Dualen Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Ravensburg and subsequently gained professional experience in management accounting. Building on this, she completed a master’s program in sustainable business management at Hochschule Aalen. She is currently a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Chair of Management Accounting.

The research focuses on environmental management accounting and sustainable corporate management. The research centers on planetary boundaries as a scientific framework for aligning sustainability goals, management decisions, and sustainability reporting.
