  • Decisions based on multiple criteria are part of every day life. Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methods are designed for large scale problems with considerable stakeholder involvement. For sustainable every day decisions, it is necessary that consumers are provided with the means to make such decisions. This work develops a model based on the TOPSIS and VIKOR MCDM methods which allows for problems to be solved without any input from the customer. The model is also kept simple in order to remain easily understandable. The case of meat products versus meat substitutes is used to demonstrate the importance and usability of the model. While it is possible to solve MCDM problems without decision maker input using the developed model, the approach in this work requires refinement and further research.
